Sara Viktorsson explains how personal commitment and social responsibility permeate her work at Wictor Family Office. Inspired by her upbringing, where empathy and action were a part of everyday life, Sara promotes initiatives such as including social responsibility in families' portfolios. She sees Christmas as a time to raise funds for children in vulnerable situations as a particularly important initiative.
Welcome Sara. Please tell us a little about yourself and your role at Wictor Family Office.
My name is Sara Viktorsson and I divide my time between Båstad and Stockholm, where I live alternately with my two wonderful daughters. Ten years ago I discovered a gap in the market and founded Wictor Family Office together with two other entrepreneurial families.
Today I have the privilege of being the CEO of the company. At Wictor Family Office, we offer complex solutions to wealthy families, with services such as asset management, family law, tax planning and practical help with everything from booking concert tickets to buying real estate. It is the whole, the context and driving positive change that is a big part of our everyday lives.
Can you tell us about a specific private commitment that is close to your heart and why it is important to you?
A commitment that is truly close to my heart is the work of supporting vulnerable people in our local environments, something that began when I was growing up. My parents opened our home to several foster children and that experience has shaped me deeply. Growing up in an environment where empathy and action were central values has shaped me and made me realize the importance of actually acting when you see a need. Today, I continue to get involved in creating awareness, compassion and a humility to see, listen and act for the good of others.
How have your private values and initiatives influenced or inspired Wictor Family Office's operations?
This commitment has also come naturally to create a culture of social responsibility in my professional role at Wictor Family Office. A few years ago, we initiated a program where all employees have the opportunity to spend one week a year on a charitable cause of their choice. Through this program, I want to help more people see the value in making a difference – both with their resources and their time. The idea was not only to offer financial support to socially beneficial initiatives, but also to create a culture where we actually participate actively and contribute with our time and energy.
It's not just about helping others, but also about building a culture where we all become more aware of the different circumstances people have, even in our immediate environments. I strongly believe that small actions can make a big difference and that together we can create a better and more empathetic world. A quote that I usually like to use: "
"If you are big and strong, then you must also be kind" - Bamse.
How do you view including social engagement in your families' portfolios, and why is it valuable to you?
Including social engagement in our families’ portfolios is both a natural and important part of our long-term work. By channeling a portion of excess returns to charitable causes, we can create a positive impact that extends beyond financial results, something we work on today to some extent but which I want to establish further. It gives deeper meaning to our investments and creates a sustainable legacy that gives back to society.
Many of our families have a genuine desire to contribute socially but don’t know where to start. Here we play an important role by offering guidance and concrete solutions, for example by identifying projects or initiatives that are in line with their drive, values and interests. We see it as an opportunity not only to manage resources but also to create long-term value – for individuals, communities and future generations. The collective will of our families can make a huge difference, which is fantastic to both see and contribute to.
Christmas is a time for giving and reflection – is there any initiative you think is particularly important to highlight right now?
Christmas is a fantastic time for giving, and it is also a reminder of how many struggle in silence during the darkest months of the year. One initiative I think is particularly important to highlight right now is support for children and young people in vulnerable situations, for example through organizations that offer security and community for those who may lack it at home. Dandelion Children is a great example of an organization that I like very much.
One specific project I would like to mention is local collections for Christmas gifts for families who do not have the opportunity to celebrate Christmas in the same way as many others. Being able to contribute to giving children a glimpse of magic during Christmas is invaluable. At Wictor Family Office, we are currently holding a Christmas gift collection, where we, together with our families and partners, collect Christmas gifts to distribute to children whose parents may not really have the same conditions. We wanted to translate our concern into action, which many of our families also agree with, especially during the Christmas season.
Beyond that, it's also about giving time – to engage, to listen, or just to be there for someone in need. For me, the real joy of Christmas lies in giving in a way that can make a lasting difference in someone's life.
What do you see as the next step to strengthen the connection between personal commitment and your shared corporate vision?
The next step in strengthening the connection between personal engagement and our shared corporate vision is to further integrate our values into daily work and create even more opportunities for both employees and customers to engage in a meaningful way. We plan to develop more structured programs that combine our business activities with community benefit. For example, we could collaborate with more local initiatives and create more long-term partnerships where we contribute both our resources and our commitment.
Ultimately, it's about encouraging conversations about what drives us – both as individuals and as a company. When we see that our personal efforts strengthen our shared vision, we create a foundation that builds not only success, but also meaning and pride.
We thank Sara Viktorsson for the interview and wish her the best of luck in the future.
